How we got here

  1. 2019
    A hedgehog appears on Tesla's Model Y order page.

    Elon posts it with "S3XY". Nobody explains it.

  2. June 2025
    The Robotaxi app gets a Leave a tip button.

    Tap it and the hedgehog says "Just kidding." Elon: "Had to been done lol".

  3. April 2026
    Tesla names him.

    The Cyberhog joins Pet Mode in pixel shades and a jacket, then lands on a t-shirt.

  4. 3 Sept 2026
    The Cybercab launches in Austin.

    Gold. Two seats. No steering wheel.

  5. 5 Sept 2026
    Danger arrives on Robinhood Chain.

    Paired with TSLA. The only car he rides in is a Tesla.

Paul is the man behind the Cyberhog. He built the character on X in 2019, years before Tesla put one in the car, and he is on board with $DANGER.

    Tesla's X account was quiet.

    A fan called Paul decided someone should welcome people in, so he appointed himself Tesla's welcoming hedgehog. He told Elon he would keep going until he was asked to stop. He never was. That account was @HogDexter.

  2. The hog gets noticed
    Replies from Elon and Maye. Messages from people who said they worked at Tesla.

    The friendly hedgehog turned cyberpunk: pixel shades, a leather jacket, a DANGER name tag and a QR code worked into the design. @HogDexter became @HOGDEXTERJR, then #DANGERHOG. Same person. Same hog. New chapters.

  3. Why a hedgehog
    Elon likes hedgehogs.

    He has kept them and posted about them. Paul built the character on that.

  4. 2026
    Tesla ships its own Cyberhog.

    Pet Mode, official merch, and the tip-screen easter egg in the Robotaxi.

  5. Full circle
    A character that started on one man's X profile is now inside a car that drives itself.

    Seven years of hedgehog posts. Then Tesla built the car to match.
